The NetUP 5+ system includes a module that accepts raw statistics on traffic in the following formats - NetFlow v5, v9, IPFIX.
This module aggregates the statistics, converts it into an internal format and assign it to certain traffic classes and subscribers.
But what if you have several subnets with overlapping address space? In case of a remote branch, transmitting detailed statistics is probably not what you want, since it may make up to 10% of the transmitted traffic.
In such case you need to use external collectors. They are installed locally.
Collector’s task is to transmit information to the kernel of the system for charging. In addition you can use them to reduce
the load on the main billing server.
