It is cheaper and simpler. In all cases where you need to receive channels in the hotel via satellite, terrestrial, or cable, a headend is required. To implement interactive hotel TV for hospitality, a separate server or virtualization is necessary. In our case, these two devices can be combined into one — the NetUP Combine Hotel. This hotel TV solution not only saves on hardware but also simplifies maintenance, as there is no need to distribute responsibility among multiple suppliers.
Can I purchase only the software for the hotel television system?
Of course! If you already have a content source and infrastructure in the form of a server or virtualization, you can purchase our hotel TV software without the hardware component.
Why is a channel redundancy system needed for hotel television?
Imagine you need to build a stable hospitality television system in conditions of unstable satellite or terrestrial reception. Our system automatically switches channel sources based on their availability, ensuring uninterrupted service for your guests.
Why is integration with AirPlay and Chromecast important in interactive hotel TV?
Our goal is to create a habit for guests to interact with the television in your establishment, which allows for offering additional hospitality services and amenities. Integration with hotel TV Chromecast or AirPlay enables guests to use familiar features, with screen casting being one of the most important. However, many professional hospitality television systems do not yet support these technologies. Therefore, we recommend using original Apple TV devices and Chromecast dongles, as well as special NetUP Streamer HDMI encoders along with our software to organize screen casting from any device.
Can hotel television be used on devices other than TVs?
Yes, we have a Web Player module that allows you to launch video and audio content from the local network on any other devices. Additionally, there are mobile applications. This can be useful not only for guests but also for your staff: broadcasts from cameras, training videos, etc.
What IP channel broadcasting protocols are supported?
We can receive and retransmit all popular unicast and multicast protocols (UDP, HLS, SRT, RTSP, etc.).
What should I do if there are no local network sockets in the rooms for IPTV needs?
In this situation, there are several options. The first is to upgrade your infrastructure with the help of an integrator. There are technologies that allow for the careful implementation of a wired local network without disrupting the room finishes. The second is to use a hybrid system that utilizes the existing cable TV network for transmitting "heavy" channels, while the interactive functionality operates over Wi-Fi.
If set-top boxes are used, why is it better to choose the NetUP Android IP STB?
Our set-top boxes come with pre-installed software, can be updated from our system, and are equipped with a set of tools for diagnostics and configuration. We recommend building a local network with a bandwidth of 1 Gbps. For broadcasting channels, it is better to use multicast, and the switches should support IGMP Query and Snooping. If such support is not available, unicast can be used. A separate hotel IPTV network is not mandatory.
